The heart behind it
Volunteers should be matched to roles based on how God made them, not just where the need is.
Most churches place volunteers the same way: a slot opens up, someone says yes, they get plugged in. It works, until it doesn't. The volunteer burns out. The pastor scrambles for a replacement. The cycle repeats.
We believe there's a better way. Every person walking into your church has been wired by God with a unique personality, a set of spiritual gifts, and a calling. When you place someone in a role that matches how they're wired, they don't just serve. They come alive.
I remember the first time I took a personality and spiritual gifts test in a church. It changed how I saw myself, how I served, and what I thought ministry could look like. I want every guest who walks into your church to have that same experience.
Meet the founder
Built by a pastor, for pastors.
Joshua Roberie has spent over a decade serving church planters and pastors through the Association of Related Churches (ARC), where he developed training and processes that have helped over 1,000 pastors launch and grow life-giving churches. More than 800 of those churches officially launched through ARC.
Before ARC, Josh served as a youth and young adults pastor and as part of the Executive Team, building systems that supported every ministry in the church. His leadership extended to conference logistics, where he oversaw an annual gathering that grew from 900 to over 6,000 attendees after implementing his processes.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Louisiana State University and a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University. Through Build the Church, he coaches pastors and church leaders to build healthier teams, stronger systems, and disciples who actually thrive.
